When Aki Maku, one of their own, is chosen as the bearer of the Soulfire Torch and embarks on his mission to free the gods, the Akakus begin to remember their ancestral purpose. The reappearance of Octokio and the corruption that threatens their world confronts them with the reality of their legacy. As Aki Maku progresses on his quest, the Akakus rally in support of their hero and regain their sense of purpose, rediscovering their role as guardians of the forests and the gods.
